The third day of hunting during Sporting Week takes us to the historic Knights Hill Plantation, where we’ll join hounds and huntsmen from the Genesee Valley Hunt, led by their esteemed huntswoman, Marion Thorne. The plantation’s diverse terrain and scenic landscapes promise an exciting day for riders, whether the game is abundant or elusive.

Spanning 2,695 acres just northwest of Camden, Knights Hill offers a mix of natural longleaf and loblolly pines, hardwood vistas, and managed pine plantations that provide excellent cover and viewing opportunities. The rolling topography adds variety to the chase, while the property’s elevated points offer spectacular views of Lake Wateree, creating memorable moments for all.

After the hunt, gather for a hearty hunt breakfast at the Steeplechase Museum, hosted by Sue Gibbs, Mike, and Collin Burkott, along with Louisa Hughes, Ken Trogden, Marta Rose, Leigh Younce & Chris Crispens, Craig Cheevers & Alene Harfman, and Mary Taylor.
